Dear Colleagues,
I have been working with the local chapter of the Crohns and Colitis Foundation as member of the Medical Advisory Committee. The Foundation would like to gather the names of experienced therapists in the greater Houston area who have experience with and are interested in treating patients with chronic Illness. Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) that affect children and adults. Onset can occur at any age. Like all chronic illnesses, severity can range from mild to severe. In its more severe form, these diseases can create a profound physical, emotional, and psychological burden for both patients and families. Specific experience treating patients and families with IBD is not necessary. If you have experience treating patients and families dealing with chronic illness, we would like to add your name to a referral list that the Foundation is gathering for the greater Houston area. For the time being I will be triaging calls asking for referrals.
